Terms of Use

Effective: March 2026 · Last updated: 29 July 2026 · Version v1.1

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of AdvocEasy. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use AdvocEasy. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@advoceasy.in.

2. What AdvocEasy is

AdvocEasy is a legal workflow platform that helps advocates track cases, sync cause lists, manage clients and hearing dates, store case documents, and generate AI-assisted drafts and summaries. AdvocEasy is a software tool, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. You remain solely responsible for the legal work you perform and for reviewing any AI-generated content before relying on it or sharing it with a client or court.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • AdvocEasy is intended for practising advocates and law firm staff working under their supervision.
  • You must provide accurate registration information, including your Bar Council number where requested, and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
  • Notify us immediately at support@advoceasy.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Plans, billing, and promotions

  • AdvocEasy may offer free, trial, beta, promotional, and paid plans. Current plan features, usage limits, eligibility requirements, and prices are shown on our pricing page or at checkout and may change prospectively.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance for the billing period you select and renew for the same period unless the offer or checkout states otherwise. You authorise us to collect recurring charges until you cancel.
  • Fees exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Failed or overdue payments may result in paid features being restricted or suspended until payment is completed.
  • You may cancel a paid plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in a specific offer.
  • Trials and promotional offers are governed by the conditions shown with the relevant offer. A trial will not become a paid subscription unless you expressly agree to the paid plan.

5. AI features

AI features (drafting, summarisation, contract review, and legal research assistance) are initiated only when you request them, and the relevant document text, prompts, or case inputs are sent to our AI language model provider to generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect and is provided to assist your work, not to replace your professional judgment. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before using it.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the case details, client information, and documents you upload to AdvocEasy (“your content”). You grant AdvocEasy the limited right to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide and support the platform, including sending it to third-party processors described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to upload your content, including any client data, and for complying with your professional confidentiality obligations when you do so.

7. AdvocEasy intellectual property and service changes

AdvocEasy owns or licenses the platform, software, interface, branding, and materials we provide, excluding your content. Subject to these terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for your professional work.

We may add, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue platform features or usage limits for operational, security, legal, or product reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will notify you before a material change that significantly affects a paid service.

8. Data Processing Roles

Where an Advocate enters personal data belonging to their clients, opposing parties, or other third parties (“Client Data”) into AdvocEasy, the Advocate is the Data Fiduciary for that Client Data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and is responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis to process it. AdvocEasy acts solely as a Data Processor with respect to Client Data, processing it only as necessary to provide the case management, drafting, and notification services requested by the Advocate, and not for any other purpose.

AdvocEasy is the Data Fiduciary for your own account data, such as your name, contact details, and Bar Council number. The categories of sub-processors used by AdvocEasy and the applicable data-handling practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Acceptable use

  • Do not use AdvocEasy for any unlawful purpose.
  • Do not attempt to access another user’s account, case data, or client information without authorisation.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the platform or the systems it relies on.
  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, or that infringes a third party’s rights.

10. Google integration

If you sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar, that integration is provided subject to the terms described in the Privacy Policy, including what Google data we access, how we use it, and how you can disconnect it.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using AdvocEasy and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or the acceptable use rules above. On account deletion, your data is handled as described in the Data retention section of our Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

AdvocEasy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that cause-list sync, reminders, or AI output will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AdvocEasy is not liable for decisions made in reliance on AI-generated content, for missed hearings or deadlines, or for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indian law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of AdvocEasy after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of AdvocEasy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
